Trip out to Braassemermeer, Netherlands
Long drive out. Got the ferry from Dover to Dunkirk. Played many games of cards to pass the time, which I always love! Apart from the traffic in Antwerp and Rotterdam it was pretty clear. Had a massive hailstorm in Rotterdam. Could hardly see the road! #travel

Spring Championships, Poole Harbour- Day 2
Went to the club for my usual amazing breaky. Soon, the flags went up in the rain. No racing was to be done today. That was the end of the Spring Championships 2015! I had won with Arthur Fry!! I was so pleased! As we only did one race every position had two people, as there were two flights racing in them. I came first girl and joint first overall!! The prize giving was at 9:30 and after all the pictures and packing away the boat we head off back home. A fantastic weekend. P

Spring Championships, Poole Harbour- Day 1
Got changed, rigged and ready to go for 9 and had the main briefing at 9:30. Had my usual bacon sandwich. Around a 45 minute postponement before yellow and blue flights (there were four flights) head out onto the water. Then it was our turn to launch. This was quite difficult in the chop and the onshore wind direction but it was fine. Once out and sailed to the start I started to depower my sail massively as the conditions were crazily windy! First start got off fine after a

Night before Spring Championships
Wow! What a forecast for the weekend! On windguru, it has predicted that it will average around 20-30 knots and gusting 30-35. It’s gonna be amazing!! :D #eventprep
Joint Squads, Weymouth- Day 2
Good nights sleep and breakfast at the club. Got my sail from the hanger and went up for the briefing. The plan was for racing in the morning and team racing in the afternoon. It was much lighter than on Saturday but still around 10 knots. It went quite far right on both of the races so it was quite different to Saturday. Tough racing but still good fun. The Team racing was good. I was with Alex Schonrock and Hannah Roberts- Straw which was great! We managed to win 2 of the 4
Joint Squads, Weymouth- Day 1
Got there early enough for a quick bite to eat before the briefing and mobility started. For the morning, we focused on starting mainly. Wind was about 15 knots coming from the North East so it was in general, pretty cold. A little bit of chop but the conditions were pretty awesome! Sorted rigs out so that they were perfect for the afternoon of racing. Came in for lunch. Had a ham and salad baguette and a banana. Briefed again for racing in the afternoon. Alan (head coach) r

National Squad, Datchet Water- Day 3
Again, I had Spaghetti Bolognese for lunch, which was soooo good, and then back out on the water for two boat Team Racing and one long race. It was nice to finish the long weekend off with some racing! A great weekend and nice to try out new boat which I absolutely love!! #training

National Squad, Datchet Water- Day 2
Saturday. The day of t We sailed in the afternoon doing some starting and racing work. There was about 10-15 knots again. This was challenging due to the shifty and gusty conditions in the venue but it was all great practice. You can’t really ask for more than sunny and medium winds. I loved it! #training

National Squad, Datchet Water- Day 1
We had an early start! Up at 5am, left at 6 arrived at Datchet around 7.30am. We had the most stunning conditions, 15 of the squad were there. Things were looking good. Had a nice wind of around 10 – 15 knots on Datchet Water to kick off this National Squad. It was a little different for me though, as I tried out the prototype for Ovington boats! This boat was the one that came from the RYA dinghy boat show at Alexandra Palace. We started with a few tunning runs and checked
Night before Datchet National Squad
Thank you HCS, for all the support and allowing me to do my National Squad Training on Friday. On the other hand, that’s a full 8 lessons to catch up on! Great forecast for next 3 days, feeling psyched! Also, have an amazing opportunity to test out the prototype oppie by Ovington Boats- the well known British Olympic boat builder. This new Optimist was recently launched at the RYA Dinghy Show and it looks great….and I am testing it for the next 3 days; very lucky me. #eventp
